Khartoum is due to host on October 11 the Sixth Technical Conference of the Union of Taxation Authorities in the Islamic Countries with participation of 20 countries, 50 participants and representatives of the international and regional organizations, announced the Secretary General of the Tax Chamber,
Gen. Abdalla Hassan Eissa, at a press conference he held Monday at the chamber premises. He said that the conference aims to discuss the impacts of the taxes on the economic development in the Islamic countries, formulate proposals and solutions coping with the economies of these countries, reviewing the taxation challenges facing the financial institutions and the Islamic funding mechanisms.
Gen. Eissa indicated that the conference also aims to encourage the relations between the taxation institutions, specialists and experts in the Islamic countries and getting acquainted with the best taxation experiences toward motivating the economies in the Islamic countries to confront the impacts of the international financial and economic crises. He said that a number of activities will be held on the sidelines of the conference, including a symposium on the taxation challenges relating to the financial institutions and the Islamic funding mechanisms.
