A sprucing up programme at a Muslim graveyard was yesterday held at Tanah Perkuburan Islam Bukit Jabun in conjunction with the fasting month.

A sprucing up programme at a Muslim graveyard was yesterday held at Tanah Perkuburan Islam Bukit Jabun in conjunction with the fasting month.

A social activity planned by the Youth and Sports Department in Tutong, the programme involved the participation of 25 individuals, including youths from the Tutong District, personnel from the Tutong Youth and Sports Department and Kg Penanjong Village Head Haji Jumat bin Haji Kadir.

Members of the Fire and Rescue Department were also present to lend a helping hand.

Bukit Jabun, according to the village head, was discovered just four to five years ago to have a Muslim cemetery in the area.

The village head later extended his appreciation to everyone involved in the programme.

According to Programme Coordinator Mohammad Adi Shariman bin Haji Aji, the spruce up is the first of three lined up for the fasting month.

He said a closing ceremony will be held on September 3 to hand out certificates.
