Indonesian visitors tour local mosques to strengthen ties

A group of 43 individuals from the Suling (Subuh Keliling) Ketapang of West Kalimantan, Indonesia comprising 22 men and 21 women visited Brunei recently.

A group of 43 individuals from the Suling (Subuh Keliling) Ketapang of West Kalimantan, Indonesia comprising 22 men and 21 women visited Brunei recently.

They were taken on a tour to the Jame Asr Mosque and the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque and other places of interests including Kampong Ayer.

The group was invited by the Kampong Jerudong Consultative Council in cooperation with the their local mosque, Jerudong council members and residents of Kampong Jerudong. The group was greeted by the Jerudong village head, Haji Rais Hj Ishak.

Group leader Hj Bustaman Hj Raini mentioned that the aim of the visit to Brunei was to strengthen ties amongst the two countries as well as to increase their knowledge in the fields of Islamic development in Brunei Darussalam. He also thanked the organisers for their hospitality. A group member, Haji Iskandar, also said that the locals were friendly and very courteous during his visit.
