Quran should be understood and practiced: Leader

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stated on Saturday that the Holy Quran should be understood, reflected on, and practiced.

“Quran has come to be understood, reflected upon, and practiced. The more we practice Quran, the more we will see its effects,” he said in a meeting with the participants in the 26th International Quran Competitions in Tehran on Saturday.

Ayatollah Khamenei added Quran should be the criterion in all affairs.

He said the “enemies of Islam” claim they have no opposition to Quran but they are against its teachings.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Supreme Leader pointed out that the recent commotion surrounding the appointment of Esfandiar Rahim-Mashaii as first vice president should not bring about rifts among the nation.

“The issues of the recent days should not be a tool for creating rifts and schism. All should cooperate brotherly and make efforts for the development of the country,” he said.

Ayatollah Khamenei also pointed out, “The issue should not trigger dissension. Also, no one should be falsely accused and his qualifications should not be ignored.”

The Leader also added that individuals should not be absolutely rejected due to minor issues and everyone should try to advance the country.

“The absolute rejection of others because of secondary issues is not expedient,” he emphasized.

There will always be differences of opinion but when the differences are due to caprice all affairs are undermined, Ayatollah Khamenei explained.
