Lack of Quran Copies Major Problem for Muslims in Cambodia

With the holy month of Ramadan approaching, Muslims in Cambodia are complaining about lack of copies of the holy Quran.

The tebasel.com website quoted Cambodia’s mufti Karmaruddin Yusuf as saying that it is difficult for Muslim scholars to propagate Quranic concepts and Islamic teachings among the country’s Muslims due to lack of Qurans.

“Cambodia’s Islamic community is now in great need of Quran copies,” he stressed.

Ahmad Saeed, head of Divan-ol-Amal Islamic Organization is also quoted as saying that Cambodian Muslims need at least 200,000 Qurans.

Mosques and Islamic centers in Cambodia have called on Islamic countries to donate Qurans to be distributed among the country’s Muslims.
