Organized by the Imam Khomeini Higher Education Institute, the seminar is attended by Iranian and foreign thinkers, scholars, and religious leaders.
On the first day of the event, Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi delivered a lecture on the relation between peace and justice from the perspective of Islam. Also addressing the seminar were James Raymer and Professor Legenhausen, speaking on “Ethical and Theological Views regarding Dominating Others’ and ‘Peace and Just War in View of Shia Islam’.
Other lectures to be given at the four-day event include “Jesus as a Teacher and Role Model” by David Shank, “Why Peace? Why Justice?” by Ali Mesbah, “Allameh Tabatabaee’s Views on Jihad in Islam” by Mahmoud Namazi, “Peace and Justice in the Bible” by Gordon Zerbi, and “Martyrdom, Peace and Justice” by Jeremy Bergen. Special forums are also to be held on the sidelines of the seminar.
