Anti-Shia Books Seized in Iraq

The Iraqi police stopped Friday afternoon at Jordanian border a truck carrying anti-Shia books.

A group of Iraqi Wahhabi extremists were trying to take the anti-Shia books into Iraq via the Jordanian border in order to incite Shia-Sunni strife and disorder, the Iraqi police said.

The security forces noticed that the consignment, being dispatched to Iraq as a medical consignment, was in fact some one hundred boxes of anti-Shia books inciting violence and hostility against the Shia. The truckload was seized by security forces.

Early investigations revealed that the truck had been to carry the anti-Shia books to “Salahuddin” province. More investigations are underway to find the points of origin and the Iraqi organizations which intended to make use of such books.
