The congress, called "shura" in Turkish in line with the traditional Islamic concept of "consultation," will be joined by Islamic scholars from many countries from the Balkans and Central Asia, to Poland and Mongolia.
The four-day series of meetings will begin on Tuesday at the Ceylan Intercontinental Hotel. In its press release, the Directorate of Religious Affairs announced that one of the issues that will be addressed at the congress will be "the sources, the production and the renewal of religious knowledge."
