Shiite detainees begin hunger strike in prison in Saudi Arabia

In the morning of Monday, Shiite prisoners in Central Prison, Dammam, begin hunger strike in protest against the continued detention on charges of participating in the sanctuary in the region of Al `Awamiyah last month.

According to ABNA news agency quoted from Alalam agency,

According to sources close to the prisoners, the prisoners believe that accusations are unfounded and reports of Saudi security forces are contradictory and invalid.

Informed sources said that about twenty of the forty young detainees now being held in Central Prison, Dammam and the others distributed to other prisons and other security centers.

In addition to the above-mentioned, one prisoner is American young man from the Saudi-born Noah and his brother.

In the same context, the people said that there were two children among the prisoners that Saudi security forces have transferred them to the newly built prison, Al Khobar.

According to this report, three children of prisoners detained for nearly two months on charges of participating in the march to protest the attacks against Shiite pilgrims in Medina, the end of February.

It is noteworthy that most of the prisoners were arrested for participating in sanctuary in the town of Qatif province last month in solidarity with Sheikh Baqir Al Namar.
