At the seminar on Iranians residing abroad held in Tehran last week, dermatologist Akhundzadeh, a retired scholar from the University of Paris, said he found interest in art and literature following a career of 48 years in medicine.
“After all my works of teaching and medical practicing and writing books on dermatology in French and Persian, I began to make documentaries on Hafez, Sadi and (the historical village of) Abyaneh to promote the ancient history and civilization of Iran,” he said.
The documentary on Abyaneh showed scenes of the special ritual ceremonies practiced during the first ten days of Muharram, in which people mourn over the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), he explained.
He expressed hope that he will get the opportunity to donate his documentaries and the book on the Quran and Hafez to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Akhundzadeh also said he wants to share his experiences in the field of medicine to his colleagues in Iran.
The seminar on Iranians residing abroad opened on Tuesday and ended on Thursday April 16.
