AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Islamic Seminary in Qom is set to host a major Quranic gathering to commemorate the auspicious occasion of Mab'ath, an event marking the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) first revelation.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Saeed Narimani, head of the Quran and Hadith Department of Islamic Seminaries, announced the event in a recent interview.
“This gathering aims to promote and disseminate the teachings and culture of the Holy Quran. On the eve of Mab'ath, we will bring together scholars, students, Quranic reciters, and their families for this significant occasion,” he stated.
The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, January 24, 2025, starting at 6:30 PM at the conference hall of the Dar al-Shifa Higher Education School in Qom.
Attendees will also have the chance to participate in a raffle featuring prizes, including financial and non-monetary gifts, and three contributions toward pilgrimage trips to Mashhad, the holy city that houses the shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Shia Imam.
Mab'ath holds profound significance in Islamic history, as it commemorates the day Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received his first divine revelation in the Cave of Hira, marking the beginning of his prophethood. The occasion is widely celebrated in Muslim communities with spiritual gatherings, Quran recitations, and acts of charity.
The Qom Islamic Seminary, known as Hawza Ilmiyya Qom, is a globally renowned center for Islamic education and scholarship. Founded in 1922, it serves as a hub for the study of Islamic theology, jurisprudence, and Quranic sciences, attracting students and scholars from around the world.
