AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the publication of an Israeli map that asserts “historical territorial rights” for Israel in Palestine, as well as significant portions of Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.
In a press statement released on Friday, the OIC denounced the provocative Israeli calls to annex the occupied West Bank and criticized Israeli officials for advocating an escalation of aggression against the Gaza Strip, labeling these actions as blatant violations of international law.
The organization reaffirmed its rejection of these provocative Israeli practices, which coincide with the intensification of organized terrorism perpetrated by Israeli settlers and occupation forces against Palestinians in all areas of the occupied territories.
The OIC called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in ending all Israeli violations and the genocide inflicted upon the Palestinian people over the past 15 months.
The release of the map coincides with remarks from extremist Jewish ministers in the Israeli government who are promoting the idea of fully annexing the occupied West Bank and rebuilding settlements in Gaza—both Palestinian territories that have been illegally occupied by Israel since 1967.
In March 2023, far-right Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich addressed an event in Paris while standing next to a map of ‘Greater Israel,’ which depicted Jordan as part of Israel.
