Worshippers near Prophet’s Mosque allowed to visit Al Rawda Al Sharifa without needing to wait a year

Worshippers near the Prophet’s Mosque are allowed to visit Al Rawda Al Sharifa, home to the tomb of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), and can do so without needing to wait a full year since their last visit.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Worshippers near the Prophet’s Mosque are allowed to visit Al Rawda Al Sharifa, home to the tomb of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), and can do so without needing to wait a full year since their last visit.

A Saudi government app has introduced a service making this possible.

The Nusuk app management explained that thanks to recent updates, the visit to Al Rawda Al Sherifa can be repeated via the “Immediate Path” service throughout the year if the worshiper is close to the Prophet’s Mosque, the Saudi newspaper Al Watan reported.

Last year, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said that it is possible to book a permit to visit the revered site once a year via the Nusuk or Tawakkalna apps.

A visit permit is issued every 365 days for the same worshipper, according to the ministry.

Ten minutes are allocated for each group to visit Al Rawda Al Sharifa.

Separate daily timings are set for male and female worshippers to visit the place to ensure smooth access.

After undertaking the Umrah or minor pilgrimage in the Grand Mosque, Islam’s holiest place in Mecca, many pilgrims would head to Medina to perform prayers in the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.

More than 10 million Muslims already visited and prayed at Al Rawda Al Sharifa last year, according to official Saudi figures released in October.

The figure marked a 26 percent increase against 2023. The visitors included 5.8 million male worshippers and 4.7 million females.
