AhlulBayt News Agency: The executive secretary of the 10th Arbaeen International Award announced the receipt of over 31,000 works from 42 countries.
Amir Ali Javadian said that the closing ceremony for this edition will be held on January 15.
“This year, we received a positive global response to this award and have received over 31,000 entries in seven categories,” he stated.
Works from 42 countries, including Canada, Italy, Russia, Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan, India, and others, have been submitted to the secretariat, he said.
He added that last year, there were over 12,000 entries, but this year, with the addition of the Arbaeen melodies category, the number of submissions has nearly doubled.
Javadian underlined the high quality of the submitted works.
He also said that during the closing ceremony, two books featuring the best works from previous years and the poster for the next event will be unveiled.
The closing ceremony of the 10th Arbaeen International Award will be hosted by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization from 9 AM to 12 PM on January 15.
The Arbaeen International Award was first launched in 2014 to reflect the manifestations of the Arbaeen march, which is one of the largest gatherings in the world.
Arbaeen marks the 40th day after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam and the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Every year, millions of Shia Muslims walk to the holy city of Karbala in Iraq, where the shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to pay tribute to his sacrifice and legacy.
The majority of the pilgrims come from Iraq and Iran, but many others join from different countries and regions.
