Yemen Envoy : General Soleimani was resistance front’s top figure

The ambassador of Yemen to Iran said Lt. General Qassem Soleimani was indeed the top figure in the axis of resistance and played a major role in the history of the Islamic Ummah.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The ambassador of Yemen to Iran said Lt. General Qassem Soleimani was indeed the top figure in the axis of resistance and played a major role in the history of the Islamic Ummah.

Ibrahim Mohammed al-Dailami made the remark in an interview with Iqna News on the anniversary of General Soleimani’s martyrdom.

General Soleimani, the then commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the then deputy head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), along with a number of their companions, were assassinated in a US drone attack on Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

Al-Dailami said General Soelimani managed to coordinate and integrate all sections of the axis of resistance, which is the axis of Jihad and Palestine.

“He also played a significant role in aligning perspectives and institutional efforts through his exceptional acumen and excellent management style. Martyr Soleimani was not only involved in military activities within the resistance axis but also engaged in political actions, media efforts, and the preparation of suitable infrastructure to support resistance in various fields.”

He noted that the cronies of the US and the Israeli regime in the region played a significant role in creating tension in the region, spreading extremist groups, and undermining security by circulating rumors and casting doubt on the effectiveness of resistance and Jihad.

“They sought to distance people from their sources of pride and cultural power, as well as from the teachings of the Holy Quran, the principles of Islamic unity, and the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS). But General Soleimani, alongside all the honorable members of the resistance axis, quickly stood against these conspiracies and even fought them on the battlefield.

“We will never forget that General Soleimani made sacrifices in Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria to support and assist resistance movements in those regions against extremist attacks with religious dimensions. The enemy attempted to create religious strife among Muslims and establish a base for these extremist and terrorist groups linked to the Zionist regime and the United States, as well as groups being prepared and supported by the US, as (then US President Donald) Trump highlighted in his election campaign, and as Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton also emphasized.”

Al-Dailami said that all of these indicate that Al-Qaeda and Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) have been created and controlled by the US and its allies to implement terrorist plots in the Muslim world and shed the blood of Muslims.

He further said General Soleimani understood what was on the enemy’s mind and knew how to wage war against them. “He was aware that the core conflict with America, the Zionist regime, and even extremist groups was an ideological one, which had to be confronted with true Islamic beliefs and reliance on Almighty God. These enemies held corrupt and fanatical beliefs, whether implemented by Zionists in Palestine or used by extremists in their attacks. Therefore, there was a need for ideological discourse and individuals with sound beliefs to counter their corrupt ideologies.”

Referring to the aggression launched against Yemen by Saudi Arabia with US support in 2015, the envoy said the people of Yemen remember that the only country that stood by the Yemeni people and emphasized the need for lifting the blockade on Yemen and stopping the aggression was the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“Iran and some members of the resistance axis, including (then Hezbollah secretary general Sayed Hassan Nasrallah), stood by the Yemeni people and defended them. However, one individual represented the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the Yemeni people tirelessly, and that was Haj Qassem Soleimani. This figure was the representative of the Islamic Republic in this struggle, and we Yemenis were aware of his noble presence.”

He added, “We lost a great man, and all Yemenis acknowledge that he was a great ally with heartfelt, Jihadi, and brotherly sentiments.”

Al-Dailami went on to say that General Soleimani took part in any battle that took place against the US and the Zionist regime.

“Martyr Soleimani could not be confined to just one country or region. He was attentive to humanity as a whole. Many scholars and thinkers have ranked him among the great men who pay special attention to humanity. This perspective is based on his support for the oppressed against the oppressors, and Haj Qassem Soleimani was among such individuals.”
