Sayyida Khadija Mosque inaugurated in Sharjah, UAE

A new mosque, named Sayyida Khadija Mosque, has been officially opened in the Al-Waha area of the Al-Ruwaidat suburb along Al Dhaid Road.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A new mosque, named Sayyida Khadija Mosque, has been officially opened in the Al-Waha area of the Al-Ruwaidat suburb along Al Dhaid Road.

The inauguration ceremony took place on Monday and was led by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. During the event, Sultan unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the opening of the mosque, according to Emirati media outlets.

Designed in a blend of Fatimid architectural style with contemporary elements, the mosque spans a total area of 49,383 square meters.

It has the capacity to host 1,400 men in the main prayer hall, 1,325 worshippers in the outer portico, and 140 women in a dedicated prayer area.

The mosque is equipped with several facilities, including a library, a mortuary building, water stations, ablution areas, restrooms, and residential quarters for the imam and muezzin. Additionally, it offers parking space for up to 592 vehicles.

Architecturally, the mosque features a central dome measuring 10 meters in diameter, two smaller domes with diameters of 4.5 meters each, and two towering minarets reaching 40 meters in height.

Constructed with sustainability in mind, the mosque incorporates modern energy and water-saving technologies to meet environmental standards.
