AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A meeting was held in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq, this past weakened to discuss the latest preparations for the “World Quran Day”.
The Dar-ol-Quran Center affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine organized the meeting.
Nadhir al-Dalfi, the center’s media official, said the discussions focused on outlining the programs for World Quran Day, which will be held in Bain al-Haramayn -the area between the two holy shrines in Karbala- to commemorate the anniversary of the Prophet’s (PBUH) Mab’ath (appointment to prophethood), and will continue for a week.
The meeting took place as part of the efforts of the Astan to present outstanding Quranic programs aimed at enhancing cultural and religious awareness and attracting various age groups within Iraqi society, he stated.
Scholarly seminars, Quranic gatherings, and cultural showcase events are set to take place in over 15 governorates of Iraq on the World Quran Day, he went on to say.
Special programs will also be implemented within universities and holy sites in Iraq with international participation, he stated.
Al-Dalfi also noted that during the meeting to review the programs for the World Quran Day in Karbala, there was an emphasis on the readiness to hold Ramadan Khatm Quran (reading the entire Quran) programs at the holy shrine.
It will be one of the most significant events during the holy month of Ramadan, he said.
At the meeting, Sheikh Khair al-Din Hadi, the head of the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Astan, stressed the need to provide all the necessary facilities to organize similar Quran recitations at the center’s branches in the governorates and universities of Iraq.
