Gathering of Mauritanian women in support of Gaza held in Nouakchott

A gathering of Mauritanian women in support of Gaza and the Palestinian people was held in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, during the early days of the New Year.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A gathering of Mauritanian women in support of Gaza and the Palestinian people was held in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, during the early days of the New Year.

A group of scholars, activists, and notable figures from Palestine, including Rabab Awad, the Secretary-General of the Global Coalition of Women for Al-Quds and Palestine, and Shaima Sobhi Abu Shabaan, a freed Palestinian prisoner, attended the gathering.

The participants expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people and the residents of the Gaza Strip.

Addressing the event, Sheikhan Bib, the secretary-general of the National Women’s Association of Mauritania for Supporting Palestine, emphasized the importance of supporting the Palestinian people in their struggle against the Israeli regime.

She stated that Palestine is a central issue in the conscience of the Islamic Ummah (community).

Fatima Mint Al-Meedah, the head of the women’s office of the association, also delivered a speech, highlighting the commitment of Mauritanian women to support Palestine and emphasizing the pivotal role of women in the fight for justice.

She also called for continued material and moral support for the Palestinian people and an increase in activities in solidarity with them.

On the sidelines of the gathering, a campaign was launched to raise funds to support relief projects in Palestine.

In other news from Mauritania, a protest rally was held by the country’s university students in front of the US embassy in Nouakchott on Friday.

The participants condemned the Israeli regime’s recent storming and torching of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.
