2024 witnessed unprecedented Israeli violations against Palestinian people, sanctities

The preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, said the year of 2024 witnessed unprecedented Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and their Islamic sanctities.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, said the year of 2024 witnessed unprecedented Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and their Islamic sanctities.

Sheikh Sabri said in a press statement on Wednesday, “Israeli occupation forces last year escalated targeting of civilians and sanctities, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque,” adding that “despite all these crimes, our people remain steadfast and adhering to their rights.”

He explained that last year witnessed a remarkable escalation in the frequency of incursions, the numbers of settlers, the political level of those who carried out the raids, especially incursions led by ministers and Knesset members.

“This confirms that the attacks on Al-Aqsa are not confined to extremist Jewish groups; rather, it reflects a political and religious position” among Israelis, he added.

“We have previously issued several fatwas and released information in this regard,” he underscored.

Sheikh Sabri stressed the need to intensify the visits to the Al-Aqsa Mosque to defend and protect it in the face of the escalating Israeli attacks, demanding Muslims across the world to pressure their countries to create a diplomatic, official and political action to push Israeli occupation authorities to retract their attacks and violations against Al-Aqsa.

“Al-Aqsa Mosque does not belong only to the people of Palestine, but to all Muslims around the globe,” he said.

For his part, the writer and political analyst Marwan Al-Aqra said the escalation of Israeli settlers’ incursions in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque these days is part of their relentless endeavors to change the status quo in the Mosque and to take control over it.

Al-Aqra said, in a press statement on Tuesday, that Israeli settlers have been trying for years to impose a new status quo in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, expanding their incursions to include all weekdays after it was confined to specific days.

He called on popular institutions as well as trade unions to declare a state of emergency, urging Arab and Islamic parties to mobilize and take the masses to the streets in support of Al-Aqsa and occupied Jerusalem.

Over the past days, Israeli settlers have raided the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, performed dances, sang Jewish songs, set parties, and carried out public Talmudic rituals in the eastern region near the Bab Al-Rahma Mosque.

Groups of the alleged Temple launched calls for massive incursions into the holy site on the Hanukkah Jewish Day, which falls on December 26, and will last for a whole week.

On the first day of Hanukkah, last Thursday, the Israeli minister of national security Itamar Bin-Gvir led a large group of settlers into the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
