Al-Abbas Shrine organizes celebration of birth anniversary of Imam al-Baqir (+Photos)

The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine organized its own annual central celebration of the birth anniversary of Imam Mohammad al-Baqer (peace be upon him).

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine organized its own annual central celebration of the birth anniversary of Imam Mohammad al-Baqer (peace be upon him).

The ceremony, which was held in the courtyard of the Qibla gate of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), witnessed the presence of the director of the Office of the Senior Official of the holy shrine; Sayed Afdhal al-Shami, a number of its officials, official figures, in addition to a large number of visitors.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech by the general secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine delivered by the head of the Religious Affairs Department, Sheikh Salah al-Khafaji, starting by congratulating the attendees and the Islamic nation on the birth anniversaries of the infallible imams (peace be upon them) in the month of Rajab.

In his speech, Al-Khafaji touched upon aspects of the biographies of imams Mohammad al-Baqer and Ali al-Hadi (peace be upon them) and their status with Allah the Almighty.

The member of the central celebrations committee at the holy shrine; Sayed Aqeel al-Yasiri, said: "the ceremony included various events, including: making ceremonial speeches, poetry poems, and hymns for the Blessed anniversary."

"The ceremony concluded with honoring the winners of the electronic cultural competition prepared by the general secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine, which resulted in the victory of ten contestants,"he added.

The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine is keen to establish cultural, awareness-raising and festive programs and events on religious occasions, which commemorate the occasion of the imams of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
