OIC condemns attack, burning of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) issued a statement condemning the attack and subsequent burning of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) issued a statement condemning the attack and subsequent burning of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.

In its statement, the OIC denounced the Israeli regime's violations against healthcare facilities, particularly the targeting, siege, and assault on hospitals, as well as the arrest of medical staff, wounded patients, and civilians. These actions, the OIC emphasized, are clear breaches of international laws, humanitarian principles, and United Nations resolutions.

The organization called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by working towards a permanent ceasefire, halting Israel's hostile military aggression, and ensuring the protection of medical infrastructure, healthcare workers, and the rights of patients and the injured.

The OIC also underscored the urgency of providing unimpeded humanitarian and medical aid across Gaza.

Hospital Burned After Forced EvacuationOn Friday evening, Munir Al-Barsh, head of Gaza's Ministry of Health, reported that Kamal Adwan Hospital was set ablaze after Israeli forces forcibly evacuated it. According to the ministry, the hospital was surrounded, and various departments, including surgery, laboratories, emergency facilities, and storage areas, were completely destroyed by fire.

The ministry added that Israeli forces had threatened patients and medical staff at gunpoint, forcing their relocation to the Indonesian Hospital. During this operation, 50 Palestinians, including five healthcare workers, were killed in what the ministry described as a heinous massacre.

Hamas Labels Attack a War CrimeThe Hamas movement condemned the incident as a war crime facilitated by international indifference and complete U.S. complicity with the Israeli regime. Hamas highlighted reports of patients, injured individuals, and medical personnel being detained following the severance of all communication with Kamal Adwan Hospital.

The group held both the Israeli regime and the U.S. accountable for the lives of those affected, urging immediate international intervention to stop Israel’s aggression and prosecute its leaders for crimes against humanity.

ICC Issues Arrest WarrantsAs the Israeli assault on Gaza enters its 15th consecutive month, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The charges include war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the use of starvation as a weapon in Gaza.

Despite these actions, Israel admitted that after 449 days of war, it has failed to achieve its primary objectives: the destruction of Hamas and the return of Israeli captives from Gaza.
