Why US government's "combating Islamophobia" document hated by Muslims?

The Biden administration has recently published a strange document titled "Strategy Guide" to combat Islamophobia and anti-Arab hatred.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Biden administration has recently published a strange document titled "Strategy Guide" to combat Islamophobia and anti-Arab hatred.

While the US supports the Zionist regime's genocide in Gaza, the Biden administration, in an attempt to whitewash itself, symbolically approved the "Combating Islamophobia" document without referring to the roots of state violence against Muslims in the US. On December 12, the "Strategy Guide" was published to combat Islamophobia and anti-Arab hatred, which has sparked widespread negative reactions.

The Middle East Eye website reported in a report titled "Symbolic Moves": This White House strategy guide is just the latest example of the Biden administration's superficial and largely symbolic engagement with Muslim communities.
The report emphasizes: Muslims in the United States do not need a Muslim liaison in the White House. They need an end to state violence against them.

In another part of the report, referring to Biden's slogan in the text about achieving "freedom and opportunity for all in the United States," it is stated: Such claims are false in light of the historical and ongoing legacy of genocide, marginalization, exclusion, and brutality of this colonial state. But the harsh part of this myth-making is that despite this obvious lie, it continues to do so today.

Fifteen months after the Gaza war and the genocide of Palestinians by the Zionist regime, which was supported by the US, this document is the latest move by the White House towards Arab and Muslim communities in the US. The directive or strategy guide begins with Joe Biden's statement in response to the beheading of Wadea al-Fayoume, a six-year-old Palestinian-American Muslim boy by his landlord.

Then, this document, by comparing the current situation in the United States to the post-9/11 era, when Muslims, Arabs, and Asian citizens were targeted, while repeating Biden's words condemning violence against these communities, downplays the government's role in marginalizing the issue.

However, Biden highlighted a particular example of state violence, which was the Muslim ban by Donald Trump. He then praised himself for repealing the mistaken travel ban policy on his first day in office.

Despite the slogan of fighting Islamophobia, the Biden administration has become a major factor in Islamophobia and violence against Muslims by fully supporting Israel's genocide and massacre of Palestinians in Gaza, on the one hand, and ignoring the violation of the rights of Muslims and Arabs in the US and imposing various restrictions and violence against them, on the other hand.

In this regard, Michael Casey, the former political deputy of the Palestinian Affairs Office at the US State Department, criticized the Biden administration's policy in Gaza, saying: "Washington is not concerned about the suffering of the Palestinians and is pursuing Israel's interests.

It is shameful that the US government has surrendered to Israel's demands and supports its actions in Gaza, despite knowing they are wrong." This has sparked outrage and criticism, and the Democratic president of the United States has been dubbed "Genocide Joe".

On the other hand, the Biden administration's claims in this document about the need to stand up to hate speech against Muslims in a free and just country are contrary to the objective realities in the US. Such claims not only downplay state violence against many of the same groups they claim to protect from hate crimes, but also aim to deceive and calm the target communities (in this case, Muslims and Arabs) by convincing them that the US government is interested in their security and well-being.

Organized Islamophobia in the US is taking on new dimensions every day, leading to the formation of Islamophobia, i.e., practical encounters with Islam and Muslims. These encounters have taken on various political, social, media, and now physical dimensions.

The widespread and planned wave of Islamophobia has appeared in various official and unofficial forms and shapes, and while portraying a distorted image of Islam and Muslims, it has imposed many psychological and legal restrictions and pressures on Muslims living in the US.

Meanwhile, the stances and actions of some American officials are in line with the spread of Islamophobia and the promotion of violence against Muslims. In particular, Donald Trump, the former Republican president of the United States, has been the leader of Islamophobia and the creation of hatred towards Muslims in the US and the West.

On the other hand, in the US, Islamophobia and discrimination and violence against Muslims have been on the rise due to the significant growth of far-right extremist groups, especially during Donald Trump's presidency.

Attacks on mosques and the burning of Islamic places of worship, physical and verbal attacks on Muslims, and even non-Muslims who look like people from Islamic countries in West Asia, and discrimination against Muslims in various educational and professional fields are some examples of Islamophobia and increased hate speech against Muslims.
