AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Families of two Christian martyrs of Iran’s Sacred Defense -- the eight-year-long Iranian defense of its soil against imposed war by Iraq’s toppled Baath regime in the 1980s -- hosted President Masoud Pezeshkian on Christmas Eve.
On Tuesday evening, President Pezeshkian held separate meetings with Nina Hartounians Nakhjavan Tappeh, the wife of Martyr Oushavan Eyvazian, and Hasmik Mirzayan Hartounian Qarajeh Daghi, the mother of Martyr Galik Tumanian.
During the meetings, the president appreciated the sacrifices of those two martyrs and commended the patience and resilience of their mother and wife.
President Pezeshkian presented the two ladies with plaques of honor to show his respect for them and in memory of their martyrs for the sacrifices they made for “our homeland.”
He also congratulated the two Christian ladies on the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ, and the approaching New Year.
“The esteemed mothers and wives of the martyrs, with incomparable patience, depicted a beautiful manifestation of sacrifice” the president said is his note in the plaques of honor, praising those mothers and wives for their strength, who remained loyal to the ideals of their beloved martyrs.
Pezeshkian also praised the two Christian martyrs who defended their homeland along with their countrymen, and brought pride and honor for Iran through their resilience and determination.
