Israeli forces kill Palestinian teenager

Amid the ongoing military offensives by Israeli troops in the West Bank, the forces have fatally shot a Palestinian teenager during an incursion into a refugee camp at the northwestern side of the occupied territory.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Amid the ongoing military offensives by Israeli troops in the West Bank, the forces have fatally shot a Palestinian teenager during an incursion into a refugee camp at the northwestern side of the occupied territory.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA, citing local sources speaking on condition of anonymity, reported that Israeli soldiers, accompanied by armored bulldozers, stormed the Tulkarm refugee camp from its western side early on Tuesday, and vandalized private and public property.

Confrontations then broke out between Israeli forces and a group of resistance fighters inside the camp.

Israeli troops subsequently imposed a tight siege on the camp, and called in military reinforcements. Snipers were also positioned on rooftops of several buildings.

A Palestinian teenager, identified as Fathi Saeed Awda Salem, was shot and killed after Israeli snipers fired live rounds at him in the al-Hadaida neighborhood of the camp.

Israeli forces prevented Palestinian paramedics from reaching the site to attend to the Palestinian teenager, and opened indiscriminate fire on them.

This was followed by intensive flights of Israeli reconnaissance aircraft at a low altitude over the camp.

Armored Israeli bulldozers also demolished public and private property in several neighborhoods of the camp. The walls of a number of shops and residential buildings in addition to parked cars were also damaged. Barriers were placed at the entrance to al-Salam Mosque as well.

The Israeli forces’ incursion into the camp also caused a power outage and disruption of internet services in a wide expanse of the camp.

Israeli forces also raided the city of Nablus, the town of Hizma, located seven kilometers (4.3 miles) north of the Old City of al-Quds, and the town of Sinjil northeast of Ramallah early on Tuesday, with no immediate reports about possible damage and detentions.

Earlier on Monday evening, a Palestinian child and a woman were injured as Israeli forces raided two towns in the West Bank.

WAFA reported that a child was shot in the leg with live fire during an Israeli raid in the town of Beita, south of Nablus.

“Israeli forces stormed the town, firing live bullets and teargas canisters, sparking confrontations. The child was transported to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus for treatment,” Mahmoud Barham, the town’s mayor, said.

Elsewhere in Husan town, located 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) west of Bethlehem, a Palestinian woman was also injured in the leg by Israeli gunfire during a raid.

Since Israel unleashed the ongoing war on the besieged Gaza Strip in early October 2023, Israeli forced have increasingly raided villages and cities in the occupied West Bank, killing at least 824 Palestinians.

More than 6,500 Palestinians have been wounded as well, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

At least 45,317 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have also been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip during the regime’s genocidal war.
