AhlulBayt News Agency: Thousands of activists demonstrated in New York City on Sunday, protesting against the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza and the ethnic cleansing perpetrated by Israeli occupying authorities against Palestinian citizens in the region.
Activists took advantage of one of the busiest shopping days in the United States leading up to the Christmas holidays to protest outside shopping centers and in the famous Times Square, delivering their messages to decision-makers about the urgent need to stop the war in Gaza and urging the U.S. administration to halt funding the ongoing genocide.
On another front, American artist Roger Waters, founder of the band Pink Floyd, accused the United States and Israel of committing genocide against the residents of Gaza, calling for an end to the Israeli war that has been ongoing for more than 14 months.
In media statements, Waters said, “Everyone with a heart and mind around the world knows that the genocide being carried out against the Palestinian people by Israel and the United States is wrong.” He added, “You cannot destroy an entire people,” demanding an end to the ongoing genocide that has resulted in the deaths of many civilians in Gaza.
With U.S. support, Israel has been waging a genocide against Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in over 152,000 casualties, mostly women and children, with 10,000 missing under rubble and in the streets, as Israeli occupation forces prevent ambulances from reaching them, causing massive destruction to infrastructure.
