AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Promoting the Arabic language is necessary to understand the message of the Quran and to strengthen relations among Muslim countries, a Pakistani academic official said.
Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Ali was addressing the opening session of a two-day international conference in Lahore on the International Day of Arabic Language.
Organized by the Punjab University’s Department of Arabic, it began at Al Raazi Hall on Wednesday. The theme of the conference was “Autobiography: Arabic Literature”.
On this occasion, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning Prof Dr M Kamran, Principal Oriental College Prof Dr Nabila Rehman, Chairman Department of Arabic Prof Dr Hamid Ashraf Hamdani, delegates from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Egypt, Algeria and Pakistan, researchers, faculty members and a large number of students were present.
In his address, Prof Dr M Ali said that the Arabic language is very important for the strength, unity and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah.
He said that we have to get out of sectarianism so that the state can be united with Islamic, welfare and positive thinking.
