AhlulBayt News Agency: The staff of the Department for the manufacture of grids and doors of the holy shrines at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine continues its work in the manufacture of the gate of Umm Al-Baneen (peace be upon her).
The head of the Department, Mr. Nadhem Al-Gharabi, said:" the staff is working on making the first gate of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), which will lead to the holy sanctuary from the western corridor, "indicating that the gate was called"the gate of Umm al-Baneen (peace be upon her)".
"The gate has a unique artistic design that reflects the Islamic character, as it has a total length of 4.10 meters, and consists of two movable sides, 3.10 meters long and 1.26 meters wide for each side, and weighs more than a ton,"he added.
"The gate was manufactured using high-quality materials, including silver, gold, copper, with a complete packaging with hand-carved, gold-plated and glazed enamel carvings,"he said.
"The wooden gate frame surrounding it is 3.50 meters long, 2.90 meters wide and 20 cm thick, topped with a decorative arch one meter higher than the highest point of the frame, and each leaf of the gate is designed with floral inscriptions and accurate writings executed according to high-quality technical standards,"he added.
Al-Gharabi pointed out that "the carvings and decorations were done by hand to ensure the highest standards of accuracy in details, which shows the craftsmanship and beauty in the work, and the gate will be done by pure Iraqi hands to be a distinctive addition to the historical and artistic monuments in the holy shrine, and also highlights the efforts of the holy shrine in preserving the Islamic heritage and developing it according to the highest international standards".
He pointed out that"the carvings and decorations covering the gate were done manually to ensure the accuracy of the technical details, which highlights the high craftsmanship and mastery in the work, and the gate will be done by pure Iraqi hands to make the project a distinct addition to the historical and artistic monuments in the holy shrine, and reflects the efforts of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine in preserving the Islamic heritage and developing it with international standards".
