AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, has extended his congratulations to Sheikh Naeem Qassem, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, for a "significant victory" by the Islamic Resistance and Hezbollah in thwarting Israel's objectives in the northern front and compelling a ceasefire.
In his statement, General Salami highlighted the failure of the Israeli regime to achieve its strategic aims in the recent confrontation, calling the ceasefire a "humiliating defeat" for Tel Aviv.
In his message addressed to Sheikh Naim Qassem, the IRGC chief praised the resilience of Lebanon’s people, the sacrifices of Hezbollah’s fighters, and the legacy of the region’s martyrs. He described the victory as a defining moment in the history of anti-Zionist resistance across West Asia.
“Undoubtedly, this great triumph—achieved through the pure blood of martyrs, the patience of Lebanon’s people, and the unmatched bravery of Hezbollah’s warriors—is a monumental event in the history of resistance. It has disrupted the material calculations and political equations of the region, proving to all that dignity and freedom can only be preserved through courage, faith, and steadfastness,” he wrote.
Salami further said that Israel’s failure to achieve its objectives against Hezbollah could signal the beginning of broader ceasefire efforts, including in Gaza, where conflict has also persisted.
The IRGC commander directed part of his statement to Israel’s allies, criticizing their support for the Zionist war crimes.
“The ceasefire under Hezbollah’s rocket fire and the targeting of key strategic sites deep within occupied territories offer critical lessons. It underscores that the era of the Zionist regime is nearing its end,” he asserted. Salami said Israel’s allies are squandering their resources in backing a failing regime, rather than investing in their own people.
Quoting the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Salami emphasized that Israeli aggression in Gaza and Lebanon has only strengthened the resolve of the resistance.
He concluded by reaffirming Iran’s unwavering support for the Islamic resistance movements in Palestine and Lebanon, vowing to spare no effort in their struggle against Israel.
“With God’s help, alongside the vigilant and justice-loving Iranian nation, we remain steadfast in backing the resistance and its just cause,” Salami noted.
