AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): As the ceasefire in Lebanon takes effect, displaced people from regions such as southern Lebanon, Bekaa, and the southern suburbs of Beirut have begun returning to their homes.
The ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the occupying Zionist regime officially came into force at 4:00 AM Beirut time (5:30 AM Tehran time) on Wednesday.
Hezbollah’s Stance on the Ceasefire
The deputy head of Hezbollah’s political council emphasized the need to consider the movement’s conditions regarding the ceasefire. “Some of the clauses reported in the Israeli media about the agreement are incorrect,” he stressed.
Mahmoud Qomati stated that Hezbollah does not trust Netanyahu’s promises and will not fall into any of the Zionists’ traps. “Our skepticism toward Netanyahu’s commitment to the ceasefire stems from our long history of experiencing his deceit and treachery,” he added, according to Arabi 21 Channel.
“The War in Lebanon Was a Loss for the IDF,” Reports Zionist Media
Meanwhile, Zionist media outlets have described the scenes of Lebanese citizens returning to the south as a decisive victory for Hezbollah. “All the footage shared from the Lebanese side after the ceasefire highlights the return of displaced individuals to their homes, which signals a complete victory. Why aren’t there similar images of Israeli settlers returning to their homes in the north?” some Zionist media reports asked.
A survey by Zionist Channel 12 revealed that 69% of Zionists believe Israel failed to secure victory in its confrontation with Hezbollah.
Field reports indicate that following Netanyahu’s acceptance of the ceasefire, Israeli forces have withdrawn from several areas in southern Lebanon, including the villages of Shamaa and Tayr Harfa. Residents of these regions are now returning to their towns and homes.
A Historic Victory
Abdel Bari Atwan, a prominent Arab analyst and editor of Rai al-Youm, described the developments as unprecedented. “For the first time in history, this victory was achieved by the heroes of Hezbollah. Over 350 rockets struck Israeli cities, leading to a significant victory. As Israelis found themselves sinking and on the brink of defeat, they rapidly agreed to a ceasefire.”
