AhlulBayt News Agency: The United Nations Special Human Rights Rapporteur said that the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant for the prime minister and former war minister of the Zionist regime is a test of commitment of Westerners.
Francesca P. Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, said on Friday that we have witnessed a rift among the Western countries concerning the ICC ruling and added, "The arrest warrant of the Israeli leaders is in fact putting into action our request for justice and punishment of the perpetrators of mass murder and Palestinians should be protected against bombardment, carnage and [forced] hunger." The ICC on Thursday (November 21), issued the arrest warrant of the Zionist regime Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the regime's former War Minister, Yoav Gallant, because of committing war crimes, crimes against humanity and exploiting hunger (of people of Gaza) as a weapon.
Daily al-Araby al-Jadeed, wrote in this regard, "The people of Gaza are looking doubtfully at the ICC arrest warrant for two officials of the Zionist regime and have no hope that the arrest warrant of Netanyahu and Gallant will result in the end of the Gaza war."
Al-Araby al-Jadeed reiterated, "The inhabitants of Gaza consider the issuance of this ruling by the ICC as admitting their pain and suffering."
Saber Abu Ghali, a Palestinian living in Khan Yunes, said in this regard, "This ruling will never be executed, as the Zionist regime is supported by the US via the veto 'right' and it will never be arraigned."
Saeed Abu Yusef, another Palestinian citizen, also said, "The International Criminal Court has delayed and procrastinated very much. We have been witness to this situation for 76 years and whatever has been issued is not executed and no special change happens in this connection."
Moreover, Hassan Hanizadeh, an Iranian expert of the issues of West Asia, said, "Western countries and the US, in addition to arms support for the war machine of the Zionist regime, are backing the regime in the international bodies such as the [UN] Security Council and have vetoed the ceasefire resolutions for Gaza several times."
