AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Iranian Cultural Center in Deir ez-Zur, Syria, has organized Quranic, religious and skill training courses.
They include a Quran memorization course for children aged 6 to 12.
A Syrian Quran expert who has recently built a Husseiniyeh (Shia religious center) in the city, oversees the course.
The top students in the Quranic course will receive cash prizes as well as a pilgrimage trip.
There are also skill training courses for girls and women, teaching them dressmaking, first aid and other subjects.
Those taking the courses also receive lessons on the theory of Wilayat Faqih (guardianship of the jurist).
Deir ez-Zur is the largest city in eastern Syria and the seventh largest in the country. Located on the banks of the Euphrates River 450 km to the northeast of the capital Damascus.
