AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A ceremony was held in Tehran to pay tribute to Allameh Seyed Mohammad Hossein Tabatabaei, the author of Al-Mizan Exegesis of the Holy Quran.
Allameh Tabataba’i University organized the commemoration ceremony, which was attended by scholars, professors and students.
It was held on the occasion of the Quran and University Week.
Addressing the program, Mohsen Qassempour, dean of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Teachings, highlighted different aspects of Allameh Tabatabei’s life and character.
Also, Faezeh Azimzadeh, a faculty member of Imam Sadiq (AS) University, elaborated on the views of the late figure on different methods of Quran interpretation and well as his views about the status and rights of women.
An exhibition of Allameh Tabatabei’s works was also mounted on the sidelines of the ceremony.
Seyed Mohammad Hussein Tabatabai, (16 March 1903 – 15 November 1981) was one of the most prominent thinkers in modern Shia Islam.
He is perhaps best known for his Tafsir Al-Mizan, a twenty-seven-volume work of Tafsir (Quranic exegesis), which he produced between 1954 and 1972.
