AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Bahrain's most prominent Shia cleric Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim has condemned the continued ban on holding Friday prayers in Imam Sadiq (PBUH) Mosque in Diraz region of Manama.
Ayatollah Qassim said in a statement that Bahraini security forces continue to prevent Shias from holding Friday prayers at the mosque, the Manama Post reported.
He described it as a weekly war against the mosque and against worshipping God waged for the sake of the Israeli regimes prime minister and dirty Zionism.
Every Friday, Bahraini security forces close streets and alleys leading to the Al-Diraz neighborhood and prevent people from going to Imam Sadiq (AS) Mosque for Friday prayers, he noted.
When some people try to go to the mosque, they are met with bullets and tear gas, he added.
This is a war in which people’s religious freedom is violated and their religious feelings are hurt, the cleric stated.
This is a weekly war that is oppressive, stupid, ridiculous and absurd, he said, describing it as completely rejected and condemned.
This move aims to prevent any word being heard about support for Islam in the fight against Zionists who have launched a brutal war (against the Gaza Strip) in which no human value or law is respected, Ayatollah Qassim deplored.
