AhlulBayt News Agency: The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported that the death toll in Gaza has surged to 43,799, with 103,601 others injured since the onset of the conflict on October 7, 2023.
Israeli forces have carried out three massacres in the last 24 hours, resulting in 35 fatalities and 111 injuries. Rescue operations remain severely hindered, with many victims trapped under rubble or left in the streets, as humanitarian teams struggle to provide aid.
The conflict, now in its 407th day, continues to devastate Gaza, leaving additional casualties, widespread destruction of infrastructure, and an escalating hunger crisis.
In a press briefing on Friday, UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric warned of the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, citing the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Dujarric stated that multiple Palestinian refugees were killed in ongoing Israeli airstrikes in the Al-Mawasi area of central Gaza.
OCHA reported continued Israeli military operations across Gaza, including the northern regions still under blockade, where an estimated 65,000 to 75,000 Palestinians remain trapped.
Dujarric emphasized that the past five weeks of hostilities have created "inhumane conditions" in besieged areas, marked by mass killings, destruction, and displacement. He reiterated OCHA's call for the protection of civilians, urging that they be allowed to relocate to safer areas and return to their homes as soon as conditions permit.
The escalating violence has drawn widespread international condemnation, with growing calls for a ceasefire and urgent humanitarian intervention.
