AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Nigeria's President stressed that mere condemnation of the Israeli crime in Gaza is of no use and serious action must be taken instead.
Delivering a speech on behalf of Nigeria at the second emergency meeting of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) and the Arab League over the issue of Palestine, Bola Ahmad Tinubu expressed deep concern about the humanitarian condition in Gaza, reiterating the call for an immediate ceasefire.
He said: "The conflict in Palestine has persisted for far too long, inflicting immeasurable suffering on countless lives".
"As representatives of nations that value justice, dignity, and the sanctity of human life, we have a moral obligation to collectively bring about an immediate end to this conflict," Tinubu noted.
Elsewhere he highlighted the Israeli regime's failure in reaching its objectives in the war on Gaza: "No political aim, no military strategy, and no security concern should come at the expense of so many innocent lives."
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli regime has massacred over 43,500 people in the all-out war it launched on Gaza under the pretext of destroying Hamas Palestinian resistance group and liberating the Zionists taken captive during Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
"We all know this conflict did not begin on October 7, 2023. It can only be resolved through principled compromise, based on appreciation of the proper context," President Bola Ahmad Tinubu reiterated.
The OIC emergency meeting was held on the proposal of the Islamic Republic in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Monday.
