AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Hashemite University of Jordan has been slammed for issuing warnings to pro-Palestine students.
The university has recently threatened disciplinary measures against students who attend rallies in support of the people of Gaza, Arabi21 website reported.
The Ahrar human rights center has reported that at least 15 students have received the warning.
The move has drawn a wave of criticism and anger, with many demanding on social media that attempts to silence people should end.
Mohamed Ramzi Khatib, a Jordanian student, said political parties come to universities when they need the young students to take part in political activities but they are now silent on the supression of students who voice solidarity with the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
He said in a post on X that the warnings issued to students at the Hashemite University are just the latest in a series of such measures at private and public universities since last October.
Another student wrote on X that attempts to silence the protesters and suppress the voice of truth will fail.
The Amman government has imposed many restrictions on pro-Palestine activities while the Israeli regime continues its atrocities in Gaza and the West Bank.
