AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the Islamic world to set aside its differences and unify in support of Palestinians and Lebanese facing Israeli aggression
Speaking Monday at a local event in Istanbul, Erdogan condemned the ongoing Israeli aggerssion in Gaza.
“One of the most brutal genocides of the century is taking place in Gaza,” Erdogan asserted, urging Muslim-majority countries to come together. “It is of great importance for the Islamic world to put aside differences and support the Palestinian and Lebanese people.”
Erdogan criticized the actions of the Zionist regime and its allies, noting that the regime has committed various forms of “oppression and genocide” over the past 13 months but has not subdued the Palestinian people, according to the Anadolu Agency.
In addition, Erdogan advocated for increased global recognition of Palestine, stating that this would serve as an effective response to Zionist aggression in Gaza and Lebanon.
The Israeli regime forces have been pounding the besieged Gaza Strip since October last year, after Palestinian resistance groups launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood in response to decades of Israeli crimes and violence.
The Israeli aggression has killed more than 43,340 Palestinians in Gaza, mostly women and children. The indiscriminate attacks have also internally displaced almost all of the 2.3 million population.
