AhlulBayt News Agency: Officials of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, stressed that the main cause of continuation of war in Gaza and inconclusiveness of ceasefire is the US and Zionist regime deception and obstructionism.
According to Hamas officials, any likely agreement with the Zionist regime requires the exit of the regime's military from Gaza, permanent ceasefire, removal of the siege on Gaza and return of the refugees. Hamas leaders also announced about the measures of the countries mediating for ceasefire, that Egypt and Qatar have presented proposals for few-days ceasefire, increase of assistance and exchange of captives, but these proposals do not include permanent halting of clashes, pullout of the Zionist regime from Gaza and returning of refugees.
These proposals do not fulfill the people's need for security, relief work, reconstruction and reopening of crossings especially Rafah, either.
Sami Abu Zuhri, one of the Hamas leaders, said, "The Americans are seeking a superficial agreement in Gaza. Hamas has not rejected any contact aimed at presentation of a solution. We cannot deliver the captives of occupiers while they continue massacring the people of Palestine." According to Abu Zuhri, the plan presented to Hamas does not meet the demands of the Palestinian people.
This is while, Najib Mikati, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, in his meeting with the Head of Mission and Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in South Lebanon (UNIFEL), Aroldo Lazaro Saenz, said, "Expansion of the aggressions of the Israeli enemy to various regions of Lebanon once more confirms the Zionist enemy's opposition to all efforts that have been made for reaching a ceasefire to get prepared for full implementation of resolution 1701."
The Lebanese premier's remarks were stated after the US State Secretary Antony Blinken's claim that the negotiators have had "good progress" about ceasefire.
The claims of the American and Zionist officials for ceasefire are raised while the Zionist regime military has started widespread attacks against different regions in the South of Lebanon since Monday September 23, 2024.
With expansion of warmongering and crisis-creation of the Zionist regime in the region during the recent months, American and Zionist officials have always claimed that they have various plans for ceasefire.
These claims are raised under circumstances that the Zionists keep attacking Gaza and Lebanon with the direct support of the US and these attacks have been escalated for the recent days.
For instance, the Lebanese health ministry announced that the aerial attacks of the Zionist army against Baalbek on Friday resulted in at least 52 martyrs and over 70 wounded.
Therefore, the leaders of the Palestinian resistance, too, aware of the goals and obstructionism of the US and the Zionist regime, have underscored their unchangeable principles for ceasefire. The exit of the Occupying forces from Gaza and returning of refugees to their homes are among the basic principles of Palestinians in any negotiation or ceasefire plan with the aim of defense of their legitimate rights.
Osama Hamdan, a member of Hamas political bureau, said on the issue, "Talking of partial ceasefire is not logical because what we intend is the complete stopping of attacks on people."
Resistance has paid a lot of price in this course and the American government must pay attention that we will not be victim of its deception. The American government is intended to exploit the issue of negotiations in favor of the [upcoming] election in the country and separate the courses of resistance fronts from each other, but it failed.
What the American government is doing is full complicity in crime and if it had wished to stop the carnage machine, it would have stopped arms supply for occupiers."
