Female Quran learners honored in Kosovo

A ceremony was held in east of Kosovo to honor 44 girls who have graduated from Quranic courses.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A ceremony was held in east of Kosovo to honor 44 girls who have graduated from Quranic courses.

The girls, who are in different age groups, have completed the courses on reading the Quran held at Dar al-Mahal Msque.

The special ceremony was organized by the mosque officials and teachers in coordination with the women’s department of the office of Kosovo’s presidency.

It was part of efforts to support the promotion of religious awareness among women and girls in the country.

Mosques in Kosovo have 150 full-time teachers, many of whom are university graduates in the fields of Islamic teachings.

Kosovo is a multi-faith, multi-ethnic state in the Balkans in Southeast Europe. While it does not have an official religion more than nine-tenths of its people are Muslim.

The country holds an international Quran competition annually with participants from countries like Turkey, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania.

The competition is aimed at spreading the Quranic culture and promoting Quran recitation among Muslims in Kosovo.
