AhlulBayt News Agency: An African peace institution has called on BRICS as what it believes to be the only credible authority to end what it called "Israeli atrocities" in the Gaza Strip, urging its members to take a firm and clear stance.
The Peace Professionals Foundation (PeacePro) in a statement released on Monday, called on BRICS member countries to take immediate action and clarify their position on the Gaza war.
According to African news website Blueprint, the statement emphasized the failure of international institutions to support civilians and implement international law in Gaza.
PeacePro Executive Director, Abdulrazaq Hamzat, in the statement released in Nigeria, called on BRICS to hold Israel accountable for its actions in the Occupied Territories.
Hamzat expressed regret over the neglect of UN General Assembly resolutions, the indifference of the UN Security Council, and the weakening of the International Criminal Court's actions, emphasizing that international institutions have failed to support the implementation of international law.
He added: "Presently, no international institution with moral authority and the ability to act has remained. BRICS must accept this challenge, and if not, it will be complicit in the global failure to establish justice and peace."
