AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Palestinians have demonstrated across the occupied West Bank following a call by the residence movement Hamas to denounce the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip.
In Ramallah, protesters marched on Friday demanding an end to the year-long Israeli campaign of death and destruction in the besieged Palestinian territory.
Similar ‘Friday of Rage' marches were also held in Nablus, Tulkarem, and al-Khalil and other cities and towns across the occupied West Bank
A march even took place in Deir Hanna located in north of the 1948 occupied territories.
Carrying the Palestinian flags, the protesters mourned and praised Yahya Sinwar, leader of Hamas, who was martyred by Israeli forces last week.
"O Paradise, open your doors; Sinwar is among your beloveds," they chanted.
They also hailed Sheik Ahmed Yassin, the spiritual leader and founder of Hamas who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on 22 March 2004 in Gaza.
"From the south to the north, long live the heroes!"
The protesters in Nablus also delivered messages on signs: "Be with Jabalia, even with just a word."
"Jabalia is being exterminated #WeAreAllGaza."
Omar Assaf, a Palestinian political activist, said the rallies are a way to support Palestinians in Jabalia camp in the north of Gaza. He denounced the actions of United States and other Western countries which are supervising Israel's brutal military campaign in Gaza.
The activist deplored that the international community has been silently watching the suffering and killing of civilians in Gaza without any action.
Israel has massacred more than 770 Palestinians in over two weeks of military attacks on the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern part of the besieged territory.
Jabalia has been the focus of an Israeli operation for 21 days. The regime has also sent tanks into the nearby Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun.
The UN says no trucks of food, water, or medicine has entered the northern Gaza Strip since September 30.
In a press release issued on Thursday, Hamas called on the Palestinian masses to take to the streets in protest against the ongoing massacre in northern Gaza.
Member of Hamas Political Bureau Hussam Badran stressed that massive rallies would be a suitable opportunity to pressure the occupation and its Western allies to stop the ongoing fierce attacks against Palestinians in the northern Gaza.
“The movement of the Arab street is very important, and the siege of the Israeli, American, and European embassies that support the occupation is required as it may lead to important steps to stop the genocide in the northern Gaza Strip,” Badran said.
The north is home to well over half of the population of 2.3 million. It was heavily bombed in the first phase of Israel’s barbaric campaign since October 2023.
Backed by the United States to the hilt, Israel keeps massacring Palestinians in Gaza. Since October 2023, it has killed close to 43,000 Palestinians. More than 100,000 are injured, in need of treatment which is absolutely tough to receive.
