Enemies claim monotheistic religion, but serve Satan: Iranian cleric

An Iranian cleric says enemies are not true followers of monotheistic religions, rather they serve Satan.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): An Iranian cleric says enemies are not true followers of monotheistic religions, rather they serve Satan.

“The enemies are not from monotheistic religions but from the ranks of Satan, and like hypocrites, they falsely claim to follow religions,” Hojat-ol-Islam Abdollah Haji-Sadeghi, the Leader’s representative in the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps, said.

He made the statement while addressing a national conference in Shiraz on Monday that commemorated Iranian non-Muslim martyrs during the 8-year imposed war by Iraq.

“Monotheism is the foundation of our unity, and it is the strongest bond,” he said.

“We send greetings to the Jews, Zoroastrians, and Christians who have stood against oppression,” added the cleric.

Haji-Sadeghi noted that during the Iraqi-imposed war on Iran, 147 Iranian followers of other monotheistic religions than Islam sacrificed their lives to defend their country.

“In our culture, belief in all prophets is essential,” he said, adding that Muslims, in fact, teach their children that faith in all divine messengers is necessary.

“The foundation of the Prophets' call is based on two pillars: worship and obedience to God, and the fight against oppressive rulers, tyrants, and unjust leaders,” he noted.

Martyrs and warriors are chosen and exceptional people who fight to establish God's rule and reject the domination of enemies and among all warriors, those who achieve martyrdom have reached their ultimate goal, the cleric said.

He pointed out the Quranic verses that emphasize martyrs are alive and said, "In the monotheistic culture, a martyr is someone who transcends worldly and animalistic life to attain the pure eternal life. Therefore, martyrdom is not something to mourn; what is mourned is the separation from loved ones."
