Absentee funeral prayer held in Turkey for martyred Yahya Sinwar

Tens of human rights activists attended an absentee funeral prayer in Turkey for Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Hamas resistance movement in Gaza who was martyred last week.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Tens of human rights activists attended an absentee funeral prayer in Turkey for Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Hamas resistance movement in Gaza who was martyred last week.

It was held at the center mosque of Bashak Shahir in Istanbul on Sunday, Anadolu Agency reported.

The participants also held a rally in which they condemned the Israeli regime’s atrocities against the oppressed people of Palestine.

Marwan Abu Ras, the president of the Palestinian branch of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, said in an address during the rally that Sinwar had always been keen to achieve martyrdom and reached his goal by fighting in the battlefield.

He said the Zionist regime, which is supported by the West, especially the US, acts like Nazis.

Today, a major genocide is being carried out by Israel in Palestine and the Gaza Strip before the eyes of the whole world, he deplored.

He added that Palestinians will continue to fight and force the Zionists out of their land.

Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas’s Political Bureau’s deputy chief, confirmed Sinwar’s martyrdom in a statement on Friday, noting that the group’s former political leader was assassinated during the Israeli regime’s war of genocide against the Gaza Strip, which has been going on for more than a year.
