Pre-registration for Hajj 2025 to begin in Iran soon

The head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization said preliminary registration for the Hajj 2025 will begin in coming days.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization said preliminary registration for the Hajj 2025 will begin in coming days.

Hamid Reza Mohammadi made the announcement in a meeting of the Planning and Coordination Council of the Leader’s Representative Office in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs, held in Tehran on Tuesday.

He said that given the new plans and schedules for Hajj announced by the Saudi officials, there needs for proper planning and coordination with the host country for dispatching the Iranian Hajj pilgrims.

Mohammadi also referred to the Umrah pilgrimage and said that so far, 96,000 Iranians have expressed readiness to make the pilgrimage and 43,000 have paid the cost.

Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.

The annual pilgrimage is regarded as one of the pillars of Islam and the largest act of mass pilgrimage in the world. It is also a demonstration of Muslims’ unity and their submission to Allah.

Umrah differs from Hajj in that the former can be performed any time in the year.
