Fuel is urgently needed to operate wells, sewage stations in northern Gaza - Water Authority

The Palestinian Water Authority reported on Friday that only a limited amount of fuel, estimated at about 20,000 liters, was allowed to enter the war-torn Gaza Strip.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Palestinian Water Authority reported on Friday that only a limited amount of fuel, estimated at about 20,000 liters, was allowed to enter the war-torn Gaza Strip.

The Water Authority explained that these limited water quantities were only distributed to water facilities located within Gaza City, about ten wells and two sewage and rainwater pumping stations.

The Authority said it works extensively to maintain central sewage and rain stations’ operations, in light of the approaching winter.

The wastewater and rainwater pumping station in Sheikh Radwan pond was provided with 7,000 liters due to the presence of large quantities of wastewater and rain in it.

The Water Authority also stressed the extreme necessity to enter fuel to the northern Gaza Governorate in order to operate wells and sewage stations, as all of its facilities have stopped operating due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Jabalia in northern Gaza, which entered its second week.

The Israeli occupation army is launching a massive attack on Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia and Jabalia for the sixth consecutive day, amid a tight siege on the northern Gaza Strip.
