The head of the Shiite endowment Bureau, Dr. Haider al-Shammari, praised the role played by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in providing humanitarian and medical services to the Lebanese displaced in Syria.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The head of the Shiite endowment Bureau, Dr. Haider al-Shammari, praised the role played by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in providing humanitarian and medical services to the Lebanese displaced in Syria.

This came during his visit to one of the sites affiliated with the holy shrine in Syria, where relief services are provided to Lebanese refugees, in the presence of the deputy of the supreme religious authority in Syria, Sheikh Abdul Halim al-Bahbhani.

"Today we are on a visit to the sites of the holy shrines, where we are at one of the sites belonging to the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine, which provided humanitarian and medical efforts to the brotherly Lebanese people, based on the directives of the supreme religious authority in Najaf, represented by His Eminence Sayed Ali al-Sistani,"Al-Shammari said.

He added that" this support from the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine is in line with other humanitarian positions taken by the Holy shrines, "noting that"the visit to this site included reviewing what the staff working here provides, and diagnosing some specialized medical needs to be provided with some equipment and devices."

Al-Shammari concluded by calling on international institutions and civil society organizations to do their duty towards the Lebanese people, who suffer from a significant lack of humanitarian support, pointing out that the absence of the role of international institutions in providing assistance is a negative and dangerous indicator.

The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine has sent three convoys containing hundreds of tons of food, medical and other logistical assistance, in addition to equipping a field hospital and another mobile one, which includes a team of doctors, and establishing a central kitchen to prepare food for displaced families in the shelter centers scattered in the affected areas.
