Quran schools launched in Senegal, Ghana

A number of Quran memorization schools were lunched in Ghana and Senegal by the president of the UAE’s Al Qasimia University.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A number of Quran memorization schools were lunched in Ghana and Senegal by the president of the UAE’s Al Qasimia University.

They were inaugurated by Jamal Salem Al Tarifi in implementation of the directives of Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, regarding the establishment of Quran memorization schools in Africa.

The opening ceremony in the capital, Accra, was attended by Badriya Al Shehhi, Chargé d'Affaires of the UAE Embassy in the Republic of Ghana; Zakaria Noah, Director of International Relations at the University; and a number of prominent figures and representatives of institutions.

During the visit to the Senegalese capital, Dakar, a number of schools were opened in the presence of the Chairman of General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE), Ammar Lou, and a number of officials in the Senegalese local government.

Al Tarifi also met with the Minister of Education of the Republic of Senegal, within the framework of cooperation of opening Quran memorization centers in various regions of the Republic.
