AhlulBayt News Agency: Two Israelis have been killed in a barrage of rockets fired by Hezbollah in northern Israeli-occupied territories.
Lebanon’s Resistance rockets rained down on the town of Kiryat Shmona on Wednesday, killing a man and a woman, Israel’s ambulance service said in a statement.
The strikes are part of the pro-Palestinian operations Hezbollah has been conducting against the occupied territories since October 2023, when the regime launched its genocidal barbarism in the Gaza Strip.
They also served as a means of retaliation against the regime’s killing of Lebanese during its ongoing escalation against the country that has followed the launch of the Gaza war.
The development came as the resistance group announced earlier in the day that its fighters had managed to push back invading Israeli troops in clashes along the length of the border.
According to Hezbollah, firing multiple rocket barrages at Israeli forces near the village of Labbouneh in the western border region, near the Mediterranean coast, successfully forced them to retreat.
The movement also said that it had targeted Israeli soldiers in the village of Maroun el-Ras and launched missile strikes at Israeli forces moving toward the neighboring border villages of Mays al-Jabal and Mouhaybib.
Separately on Wednesday, rocket sirens continuously sounded across northern Israeli-occupied territories, including the major port city of Haifa, due to intense fire from Hezbollah.
According to Israeli military, some 40 projectiles were fired in a single barrage at Haifa, with some claimed to be intercepted and others landing in the vicinity.
More than 2,100 Lebanese have been killed since Hezbollah began launching strikes against Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians.
