Former Hezbollah chief’s sister: Lebanese resistance’s defense of Gaza is defending human dignity

A sister of Abbas Al-Musawi, a co-founder and former secretary general of Hezbollah, described the movement’s support of Gaza as defending human dignity.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A sister of Abbas Al-Musawi, a co-founder and former secretary general of Hezbollah, described the movement’s support of Gaza as defending human dignity.

Speaking to Iqna News, Huda al-Musawi said the Hezbollah fighters have stood up against the Zionist regime and in support of the people of the Gaza Strip in accordance with a religious and moral obligation.

She said the Israeli regime has waged an all-out and cruel war in the region and the Hezbollah movement is confronting the regime and supporting Gaza to defend human dignity and honor, referring to Verse 70 of Surah Al-Isra of the Holy Quran that says, “We have honored the children of Adam…”

Hezbollah and Israel have been exchanging deadly fire since early October last year, shortly after the regime launched a genocidal aggression against the Gaza Strip following a surprise operation by the Palestinian Hamas resistance group.

The Lebanese resistance movement has vowed to keep up its retaliatory attacks as long as the Tel Aviv regime continues its Gaza war, which has so far killed nearly 42,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured many more.

Elsewhere in her remarks, al-Musawi referred to the International Islamic Unity Conference, which was held in Tehran last month, and said the conference helps to strengthen unity in the Muslim Ummah.

She said God, in the Holy Quran, invites all Muslims to get united, citing Verse 103 of Surah Al Imran, “And hold fast to the Bond of Allah, together, and do not scatter. Remember the Favor of Allah bestowed upon you when you were enemies, and how He united your hearts, so that by His Favor you became brothers.”

She said Islamic unity helps to strengthen Muslims’ faith and also enables them to stand against the enemies with all their power.

Al-Musawi added that thanks to the conference, all Muslim know today that the main goal in the Islamic Ummah is liberation of Palestine and the returning of its sanctities to Muslims.

The 38th Islamic Unity Conference was held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in the Iranian capital Tehran on September 19-21.

More than 200 prominent religious figures from across Iran and Islamic countries attended the three-day event to exchange views on the latest developments in the world of Islam, with the issue of Palestine remaining as the focal point of the debates.
