AhlulBayt News Agency: Israel has killed 3 Syrians in an airstrike on a residential building in the capital Damascus.
Citing military sources, the Syrian news agency SANA said Wednesday that the attack, the second in as many days, targeted a residential building in the Mezzah suburb in western Damascus.
Three people were also wounded, it said.
The regime’s military struck the same neighborhood on Tuesday, killing at least six people, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said Tuesday that over 100,000 people have moved from Lebanon into Syria, and over 200,000 people have been displaced from southern Lebanon.
He said the number of displaced people in Lebanon is expected to rise as the Israeli military continues to issue evacuation orders, affecting 30 villages in southern Lebanon.
“An all-out war must be avoided in Lebanon at all costs,” Dujarric quoted UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as saying, “and the territorial integrity of Lebanon must be respected.”
Dujarric also warned about a dire humanitarian situation in the besieged Gaza Strip, where Israel’s genocidal campaign nears one year, with at least 1.9 million people – nine in ten – are being internally displaced across the narrow populated territory.
He said “Israeli bombardments are continuing from the air, land and sea,” claiming the lives of Palestinian civilians and resulting in further displacement and destruction of the infrastructure.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has killed more than 41,700 Palestinians in Gaza.
